Are You Content With Your Advertising Budget? 16 Methods for Getting Free Advertising

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 10:21 pm

Advertising is an important part of any business. It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Here are some suggestions for free advertising. Make sure that you check your local laws before you do any of these things. It’s not worth going to jail or getting fined to get free advertising.

1. Place copies of your circular on bulletin boards throughout your community, such as in coin-operated laundries, grocery stores, barber shops, etc. Concentrate on Fridays and Saturdays when shopping increases.

2. Check with local newspapers. Before going to press, many smaller newspapers have space left that needs filling.. Your ad may be just the right size to occupy this unfilled space and they will run it free.

3. Place your circulars on windshields of parked autos, Youngsters will be happy to do this for you for a dollar or two. Check first with city ordinances to see if this is permitted in your locality.

4. Leave sales literature on doorsteps of homes & businesses in your area. Do this on weekends in residential areas; weekdays for businesses.
5. Have your best pulling 1 inch or 2 inch ad made into a rubber stamp. Stamp this on envelopes of all of your outgoing mail.. Check rubber stamp dealer’s ads in current mail order publications for price information.

6. When you have envelopes printed with your return address, have them also print your best ad directly beneath your address. It costs noting additional to have this printed on the front of your envelopes.

7. If you publish a mail order magazine, newspaper, adsheet, etc., contact other publishers, If your circulation is equal to theirs, many will be happy to exchange an equal amount of ad space with you.

8. Many publishers will give you free adspace for mailing a few copies of their publication. Simply write to them and ask if they will give you a free 1 inch ad in exchange for mailing 50 to 100 copies of their pub.

9. Write informative articles for mail order trade publication. Most publishers will give you free ad space for the use of your article.

10. Take advantage of advertising specials. Many publishers offer ads on a 3-for-the- price- of -2- basis, or 4-for-the-price-of-3, etc. This saving is the same as getting one ad free of charge.

11. Some publishers offer a free classified ad with your first display ad. Watch for such specials. Use the free ad and pocket the savings.

12. When starting a new publication, many publishers will offer reduced ad rates to help fill space. Watch for ads regarding such offers.

13. In your ads, request a SASE. Then insert some of your other offers in regular outgoing mail. This is the same as getting free advertising.

14. Become a mailer. Get your printer’s lowest price for printing circulars on both sides of the sheet. Contact other dealers and state you will print and mail their circulars for this price with no conflicting ads on the back. Then print your circulars on the reverse and distribute them with your outgoing mail. There is no extra cost for postage and envelopes, and your side of the circular is paid for by your customers.

15. Offer a free commission circulars. Print one of your regular offers on one side; a commission offer on the reverse, leaving space where the mailer can rubber stamp his name & address, Your offer gets a free ride.

16. If you use a postage meter machine, use the ad space directly left of stamp imprint for a free message.

What is Earned Media?

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 12:36 am

If you have read about public relations or publicity before, you have probably come across the term “earned media”. You might have wondered what this meant and the term is quite simple. Earned media is, quite obviously, media that you earn rather than buy.

Advertising is paid media and you are charged for the space that you buy according to a number of factors. Earned media is sometimes referred to as “free media” but this is often inaccurate. The media will rarely give you publicity if you do not first earn it, so there is expense or time, energy and resources when your business attempts to gain earned media.

If you are attempting to place a news story about your business in a certain publication or television show, you will have to earn it by coming up with a good story to pitch to the media, writing a press release, sending it to the media outlets and making sure to follow up. If you do not complete all of these steps, you will find that your story is often left uncovered and you will lose out on potential sales.

Still, while you must earn publicity from the media outlets, it often comes at a lower cost than advertising does. You may spend $1,000 a month on advertising in a certain magazine but you may be able to get the same exposure in the same magazine by using only $50 to write and distribute a press release.

When you are looking to use earned media to expand your business, it is first recommended to find out how hard it would be for you to earn that exposure and how much your time is worth. Most times, it is best for your business to use earned media to increase sales, so earned media is definitely something to look into.

Want A Great Way to Stand Out and Not Blow the Budget!

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 7:59 am

With the world changing hourly instead of daily or monthly and
peoples attention spans becoming miniscule in this MTV world,
how do I keep people’s attention. You could advetise on
televison, radio, billboards, direct marketing, plane
advertising, or you could flood your market with flyers and
brochures. If this sounds like your regular advertising venue,
perhaps your not thrilled with your return on your investment.

Large public companies have marketing budgets in the thousands
and millions of dollars. Why do they spend so much on
advertising. They do this because advertising is not a luxury
but a necessity in todays business climate. Failure to do this
increases your chance of insolvency. Not all of us even though
we wish to do it, can afford too. It’s similar to the chicken
and egg dilemma. Which comes first. If I don’t market my company
I won’t get clients, and if I don’t have clients how do I get
money to market my company.

I’ll let you in on way way you can market yourself without
blowing the budget. Every one today uses a laser or inkjet
printer for their letters and invoices. Most companies choose a
standard letterhead to print on. They put their logo on the top
and have their co-ordinates either on the top or bottom of the
page. Next time it’s time to reprint, do this. On the back of
your letterhead print a big prominent solid color with your logo
inbedded all over the page. Second pick a silk or matt stock to
print on instead of an uncoated stock. I’ll let you in on a
secret. No one uses the backs of their letterheads. No one but
the smart people like you. You have the perfect forum to
advertise. Either your customer or prospect is getting an
invoice or letter from you. This typically comes in a standard #
10 envelope. If you fold the invoice with the solid side showing
you create a great impact. When your customers has a pile of
invoices yours is sure to stick out. When your prospect gets an
offer from your company, it’s sure to stick out. This is half
the battle. This trick should get you noticed. Now it’s your
turn to impress the customer/prospect with your company. If you
plan to use this trick, do it right. You get one chance to make
a good impression. Use quality papers, use quality printers and
use a quality graphic artist for your project. Invest in your
company wisely and it will surely pay off.

If you liked this tip and want to learn more ways to do more
with less, give me a call at 514-337-2238 or visit my web site
at http://www.solutionsink4u.com. I’ve been in this business for
over 20 years, and experince really does make a difference.

The Littmann Stethoscope

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 4:46 am

In 1963, Harvard Medical School Professor David Littmann, a renowned cardiologist, invented a stethoscope which would revolutionize the world of medical auscultation. Stethoscope design had changed little since the nineteenth century but Littmann realised that the requirements for listening to low and high pitch sounds were different. Accordingly he patented his dual sided stethoscope which incorporated a chest piece with an open side for listening to low pitch sounds and a closed side which filtered out lower pitched sounds. In addition, the Littmann stethoscope incorporated features which made it comfortable for the practitioner to use as well as light and practical to carry. The level of sound produced by the new design made such a profound improvement on what had gone before that in 1967 the 3M corporation acquired Dr Littmann’s company, Cardiosonics Inc.

As a world leader in health care products 3M continued to improve and develop the Littmann stethoscope and and in 1978 worked very closely with leading figures in the medical profession to produce the 3M Littmann Cardiology Stethoscope. This became known as the “cardiologists dream stethoscope” and featured a dual tube and an enhanced low frequency sound capability.

In 1987 a major product development breakthrough was made by 3M engineers who introduced tunable diaphragm technology to the Littmann stethoscope. Although Littmann had produced a stethoscope which was ground breaking at the time it was not without its drawbacks - the main of which involved having to remove the chest piece from the patient in order to listen to different types of sound. The new tunable diaphragm technology allowed the practitioner to alter the pressure on the chest piece in order to change from bell mode to diaphragm mode and vice-versa. Accordingly the chest piece does not need to be moved in order to be optimized for different sound frequencies. This represented a hugely significant breakthrough in the area of auscultation and in addition the fact that low frequency sounds were being amplified by a diaphragm rather than a bell meant that amplification was much greater and much clearer.

More recently 3M has developed electronic Littmann stethoscopes which contain microphone and low noise amplification allowing chest sounds to be heard 18 times louder than with conventional equipment. These state of the art stethoscopes also allow sounds to be recorded and transferred to a PC in order to be analyzed. Littmann stethoscopes continue to be the market leader in today’s technologically advanced health care market. There can be no doubt that Dr Littmann would approve of the legacy he created.

Online Shopping UK - Know Your Rights

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 5:21 pm

With online shopping UK figures showing a
dramatic recovery from the dotcom crash of
2000, it is important for consumers to
know their rights when shopping online.

It is important to remember that when you
are buying online, you have the same rights
as when you are buying in a shop.
So if the goods are faulty, are not of
satisfactory quality, do not match their
description, or simply do not arrive then
you still have legal protection.

If the seller is based in another European
Union country, you may have the same or
similar rights as in the UK. On the other
hand, if the seller is based outside the
European Union, your rights will depend on
that country’s legislation.

Bank Card Protection

In addition, purchases made with Bank cards
are protected by UK law wherever you buy
goods from. If something goes wrong, it is
quicker to go straight to the merchant,
but if there is no redress you should contact
your Bank or credit card issuer.
Therefore, it is important to have a contact
number and postal address for the retailer.
When you make a purchase, you should also
print out the confirmation screen as a receipt
and make sure you know the value of the purchase
in sterling if buying in a foreign currency.

Buying From Abroad

The Office of Fair Trading warns consumers to
be aware of different standards between
countries especially electrical goods.
You should also ensure that the guarantee is
valid in the UK.

Check also for possible hidden costs such as
VAT, custom duties, delivery charges,
postage and packaging. And don’t assume that
an internet company is in the UK just because
its web address has ‘UK’ in it.

Consumer Bodies

If you don’t receive adequate redress from
the merchant or Bank card issuer, you can
contact relevant consumer bodies.

If false marketing statements are made, contact
the Advertising Standards Authority, Trading
Standards, or a solicitor can be seen as a
last resort.

So if you know your rights, online shopping
in the UK can be as safe as popping into the
corner shop.

Google Make Money Fast Techniques

Filed under: Advertising Industry @ 8:01 am

The most powerful tools online for anybody who wants to make their money fast all have the name Google on them.

There are at least three major search engines in the market, but it is the youngest of the three, Google that is so important that SEO experts usually ignore the other two and concentrate all their efforts on Google. And not without reason. The volume of traffic a popular keyword phrase indexed at Google can bring to a site can be so huge that the site owner can’t go wrong if they want to make money fast.

One of the most popular ways to make money fast on the World Wide Web today involves setting up a blog, building up traffic to it quickly while cashing in on Google Adsense PPC (pay-per-click) ads as an affiliate. It is no secret that there is no other affiliate program where a novice can start to make money fast that is faster than the Adsense affiliate program.

These two potent Google tools that I have just mentioned deserve your full attention if your intention is to make money fast on the Internet. You will need to make use of keyword phrases on your site that are popular so that you can attract some sizeable traffic fast from the Google search engine and thus be able to generate money from whatever it is you are selling or promoting on your site.

You will also need to join the Google Adsense affiliate program, not only to make money fast but maybe more to generate working capital as you gradually build up your business.
